I found on Dafont.com you can download dingbat fonts that have borders so I downloaded some and came up with this patch card.

lol my bad i though the letter was a font! how did you make the letter?

I used a font called wanted for the letter C and then I duplicated it and rasterized the duplicated layer. Then I selected the duplicated C and while selected I did an image select modify contract and set the pixels to about 12. After that I hit delete. This leaves the border around the edges. Then in the layers effects I just found a pattern that i liked. I also added a pattern to the original letter c. I hope this helps.

Did you download the pattern, trying something out but cant get the jersey to look like jersey
