    If I'm not mistaken, there was an article posted on ESPN about the Pittsburgh Pirates in the offseason, discussing how they DON'T use the luxury tax money from teams like the Yanks and pocket it. It's been relatively obvious, the Pirates' front office is more concerned with making money rather than winning, and have no issue losing every year, because they DO make a profit every year. That's not the Yankees fault. The Yankees are intelligent enough to make money AND win ever year.

    Regardless, a salary cap in baseball would do no better than one in football or basketball. The Knicks and Cowboys are perfect examples of teams who have dropped A LOT of money and rarely win ANYTHING.
