1 month of card collecting, First pull is still the best

My first post on this forum....

I've always loved watching sports, especially hockey and football. Never thought about collecting cards but one day at the mall i bought about 5 packs of Topps Draft Picks & Prospects packs. my 3rd pack, that ive ever opened, was a double feature dual auto of Braylon Edwards and Mark Clayton (bv $200)

so its been about 1 month since, i spend a ton on cards that have been all football so far.

    ive also pulled
    - topps DP&P Carlos Rodgers Senion standout jsy
    - topps DP&P Reggie Brown class marks auto
    - topps DP&P Mark Bulger gold refrac /199
    - UD fb Jamal Lewis sunday swatches

any price values on those would be greatly appreciated

Remember to only rip for pleasure. Don't get to wrapped around the Beckett, it can break your heart. You should check out ebay for buying single cards. Now that your ripping packs, think about trading for stuff you want.

I know the feeling.. My 3rd $10 box at Target EVER, I pulled a Joe Namath Auto. Since then, it's been down hill. The first time I ever shelled out a lot of money for a box was $80 for 04' Donruss Elite. Was a pretty bad bust, the best card I pulled was a Roethlisberger RC, that, at the time, booked for $30.. I considered it a bad bust until about the 6th week of the season, when the card was climbing $10 each month, till it ended at $80. I now consider that a good bust ;) But nothing ever since :(

    Great Pulls!

Good For You! I guess in Rhode Island where you buy your cards they are not searched by either the sports card shop or others?

I have been collecting (opening packs) for an awful long time now and the best I ever done was pull an $80.00 card that was valued that as soon as the packs hit the store.

But I can still remember pulling Bradshaw rookies left and right back in 1971. Wasn't worth that much till the 1980's and what a thrill it was to buy the packs for a quarter and sell one card for $150.00

A place in the mall lets you "pack feel", i dont know how to and dont try. I did get the double auto in the mall, it was a freshly opened box. After that i never got a single good card so i stop buying from them for the reason they let people "pack feel". I now go to a hobby shop that doesnt allow it.
