Use of checklist cards
Expanding on the exclusive rights to product MiLB cards, Topps has given us Heritage Minor League. Just like its Major League counterpart, the card design is based off of 1962 Topps. A chance at a complete set is ruined due to the use of checklist cards. It's time to get rid of the checklist cards. Without those, that would have left the door open to include the missing three cards to complete the set. And this set will be an autograph seekers dream as the cards are perfect for in-person and TTM autographs.
While I know he is the household name and the it guy, this release is too Bryce Harper driven. It's nice to be able to find his autographs in products, but when everything is built around him being in the product, it is complete overkill. But my biggest gripe are the parallel cards. Each of the three parallels are numbered to 620, yet the odds printed on the packs so that each should fall at a different rate. Then what makes one more rare over the other? Also, the colors can be confusing as the green parallel actually looks yellow and I had a blue parallel that looked green.
This is not that bad of a release, but it does have a lot of flaws. Price wise, it can be a worthwhile venture, but it's not one to buy over and over. Besides, with Bowman Chrome, Bowman Draft and Topps Pro Debut, do we really need another set featuring minor leaguers?
Once again, I'd like to thank our sponsors at Topps for giving us the opportunity to open and review this release. For more information on all their products, visit them today at www.topps.com.Last edited by Enigma; 10-12-2011 at 02:09 AM.
