How common is this?
I have a Chien Ming-Wang auto that books 100.00. Right now on eBay the card is up to 111.00. Has anybody else seen cards sell for over book price? Just wondering.
thanks

I have seen this tons of times. Here are the most common examples I can think of:
1. When the card has a low print run. So when it does pop up on ebay, all the people looking for this card throw BV out the window.
2. Graded cards (obviously).
3. Japanese/Asian players. Bidders from Asia seem to overspend on high end cards.

I mean there are cards that I would easily pay double the book value for because I either need them or I know that they could be sold for even more on eBay. You just need to know what sells very well on eBay. So yeah if your selling stuff on eBay you can sometimes get more then book value because a book value is just a guide and not a rule.
Here's two off of my head that I saw the other day end for more then book value. The first one only sold for 8 dollars more then the book value but the last card sold for quite a bit more. LOL
