Like the Rangers but I think this is Detroit Tigers year. And there's not enough pitching in Texas to beat the Tigers.

If it matters, Porcello actually had a nice start in Texas this season, so there is some hope

So the official rotations for the series are

Texas - CJ Wilson, Derek Holland, Colby Lewis, Matt Harrison

Detroit - Justin Verlander, Max Scherzer, Doug Fister, Rick Porcello

Shocked Washington isn't using Ogando in a starting role. He was the ONLY Rangers pitcher to pitch well vs Detroit this season.

This season the 4 starters pitching vs Detroit went

    Wilson (1 start) 0-1 5.40 ERA
    Harrison (2 start) 0-2 6.30 ERA
Holland - did not face Detroit
    Lewis (2 start) 0-1 15.95 ERA

    Ogando was 3-0 with a 1.29 ERA

Granted its a small sample size, but Lewis has ALWAYS been lit up by the Tigers, Wilson has never had success, Harrison doesnt have much sample size period same for Holland.

Scherzer/Porcello vs Texas has had mixed results. Verlander lost his only game vs Texas this season (lost 2-0 and had a complete game, he lost to Ogando of course). Fister pitched well in his only Tigers start vs Texas also.

I picked 5 games, but wouldnt shock me one bit if it goes 7

Yeah Porcello has me a little worried. Max and Verlander not so much.

I'm thinking if the Rangers don't win game 4 they'll never make it back to Texas. I think Detroit can for sure get ATLEAST 1 in Texas. I think Fister has the edge over Lewis in game 3..so if Porcello somehow wins game 4, Verlander could win game 5.
