Often this come down to money. Since we do not know what range of product it's hard to figure it out for you. You can buy box way under 100$ and other over 400.
So the cup or dominion would not fetch card for PC 95% of the time so better to buy them on ebay.
Now this year, very few product have been release. You can check any previous release from last year to see what each fecth but to be honnest all product will get you good crack st him as he his a regular in insert sets and goalies set.
Fleury cards list from 2010 Here just enter SPX in set name it will will show what card a relase had from him and you can except the same number this year in that same product.
Often the best way is to buy the card 1 by 1. But if you want to open a box then prepare yourself for no card of him in a box.
I collect Carey price and I don't pull that much card of him except base and cheep insert. I buy minimum 1 box from all 22 prroductthey release and yet here and ebay is where I get most of them.
Money wise, the secondary market is the player collector's best friend.
If you ask what product bring the biggest bang fro your money, this is easier to answer. Player wise, buying box is not very productive but if you love to open pack, you pay for the trill to grab a nice card you can reselll for good money.

Looking at player you collect bying a product like this mean only fleury card. While it's a goaltender set, your change of getting a nice insert, jersey or auto are slim, but you will not get any Kris Letang, Miroslav Satan and Sidney Crosby. If you buy a panini brand other then the goalie set or a upper deack brand, then you can also hit one of the other three.
You chance of getting a fleury is about the same in all product So for abox around 100$ you would get the same chance to get cards and got 3 more palyer you can also hit. Fleury is as present in all release as carey price cards. mainly they produce a lot of him.
Here is his latest card for this brand: Here you have 36 records Mainly 2 have no print run, then print run go down fast.
Now take this year artifacts (2011-12) here you have 27 unique cards. here less but a lot less 1/1 that most likely you would not pull and a lot more cards with greater print run. But artifacts might not have many jersey and signature as other brand could maybe offer you.
So in a way it's hard to tell in other brand you will get other hit possibility. So I would venture more in a panini UD brand. Artifacts is new and in the same price range so maybe you can try this.

If you're chasing a certain player, purchasing boxes would probably not be the best decision in my opinion. The odds are severely against you.

I agree but at the same time, if you never have any trader then you can miss on some great trade. I love to open boxes but end up getting most of my carey price either by trading or buying. Since I am a pretty decent Carey Price collector, I do need the trader or else I would loose some trade. So I combine the fun of oppening boxes and the fun of trading.
If you only buy cards, your collection will grow faster for the money but forget about the fun of opening boxes and trading. So it really depend what you can afford really. I can so I do it all, buy trade, sell and bust boxes.

All traders are in my SCF Inventory. I have 29 but small cards.
if you do a wider search:

the is ten times more cards from all members that use the inventory.Last edited by CoolHandLuke; 10-15-2011 at 01:08 PM.
