Whats wrong with a little clebration?

God forbid a hockey player does something but forget about all the absolutly idiotic things football players do. He knocked him out and gave the fans what they wanted to see. He didn't do a throat slash gesture, he said lights out. Wasn't a big thing didn't do it to his face when he was on the ice. Im tired of everyone ripping on hockey players lately. Let them play the freaking game.

Honestly looked like a WWE type action with the celebration. Definitely not called for and worthy of a fine but not a suspension. Still the fight was 2 guys stepping up and throwing down. Don't need NFL type showboating and Asham knew he was wrong and did apologize so I give him credit for that. Just looks bad to the casual observers and obviously the anti-fight crowd.

I actually didn't have a big issue with the gestures Asham made. As long as it's not a throat slashing gesture or anything of that nature, it doesn't bother me. I understand being in the heat of the moment and having the adrenaline rushing through (which can lead to the celebratory gestures) and it's no different than the victory celebrations you see after a UFC match where they dance around the ring and jump on the sides of the cage.

If anything, I can understand people not liking the sleeping gesture Asham did since Beagle was knocked out, but the first one was certainly okay in my books.

This was handled perfectly, I think. No fine, no suspension just a reminder that things of this nature can lead to a fine and/or suspension.
