    how to bust a graded slab?

    i have a card graded gem 10 by gem elite, and i want to have it regraded by a better company....anyone know how to bust it open safely ?

    I would email one of the big companies like BGS or PSA and see what they say about it.

    use a tile scorer.
    Also, you can cut the edges of the seam with a knife near the label. Then use a hammer to snap the top of the card off.

    I think some companies might do it for you, as part of their "re-grade" policy. I know SGC used to do this. You would just send in the whole slab & let them do it. So like Kovalchuk said, you might want to ask the grading companies.

    BGS will reslab. I was talking about busting froma case f you dont like the grade. If you get a BGS7, its worth less than the raw card.

    I've busted a bunch of BGS cards in my life....the technique i use is the following:

    lay your graded card flat on a table....take a flat head screw driver and put it on the label part of the slab above the card...take a hammer and drive it into the screwdriver...then use the flat head screwdriver to chip away and pry pieces off once you've got a huge whole in it....this will not damage the actual card in anyway...but watch out for flying chunks of broken plastic.
