Newb from NY
Hey everybody.
I was a big baseball card collector as a kid, which led to autograph collecting (mostly baseball but some other sports and celebrities too). My family used to go down to Florida every February to visit my grandparents, which meant trips to see the Braves, Orioles, Yankees, Cardinals and more at spring training. That was a huge boost to my autograph collection, but I got antsy the rest of the year so I started collecting TTM. I got a ton of great cards signed, and then as high school came around I got away from collecting all together.
Fast forward a few years, as I went to college I started collecting classic rock vinyl albums signed by the artists/bands. I was (and still am) doing this entirely in person. Luckily, working in the music business often makes this easy for me.
Recently, I've gotten very into classic boxing and wanted to collect some autographs from guys who are getting up there in age. Basilio, LaMotta, etc... So I started searching the Internet for address resources. Here I am at SCF and it is the best site and community that I have found, so I joined!
When I went to order 8x10s of boxers to mail out I decided to pick up a bunch of old baseball players too (my first love), so I'm getting back into TTM. I have already sent out a handful in the past week, and will be sending a few more each week for a while. The bug has bit me once again and we'll see how long I stick with it this time, but at the moment I'm going pretty hardcore. I am/will be reporting all my attampts and successes in the TTM manager.
