The Official Toronto Maple Leafs Thread for 2011-12! LeafsNation Unite!
I really can't believe that no one has posted a thread on this site to talk about all things Leafs.
I don't want to jinx them or anything by being too high with the way the Leafs have started this year especially considering they still have numerous weaknesses for a team that is 5 wins 1 loss and 1 otl. Especially that brutal PK. I'm thrilled with the play of Kessel and Lupul though. Reimer as well. Phanuef, Schenn, and JML have been the Leafs best D so far.
Grabo, Kuli, and Mac will get it going and if the Leafs can have 2 or even 3 scoring lines being hot they will continue to do well.
Most exciting thing is the prospect depth in the AHL with Crabb and Colbourne both have 12 points in 6 games.

So far the Leafs had a couple of bad periods but were still able to win games by holding on or coming back. The Boston game was by far their worst game of the season.
Anyway only 7 games into 82 so anything can happen but the playoffs are a good possibility for the Leafs to make them for the 1st time since the lockout.

After years of waiting I think we finally have a HAVE team compared to a HAVE NOT lol. Its nice to be able to turn on a game and know that Leafs are competition for any team now. Like you said Nathan, the Grabo line need to kick it up another small notch and its smooth sailing.
Will be nice to hopefully see our team in the playoffs for the first time in 7 years, and hopefully to do something with it!
(we'll pretend the Bruins domination over the leafs the other night didnt happen :D ) lol

I'm hoping the Leafs don't get killed by the Flyers tonight. If it's a one goal loss, I won't feel too bad cause at least the Leafs are competive with the top teams. But if they get killed like they did in Boston, it just means the Leafs are only good at preying on weaker teams, which is a good thing, but they really need to show up against the top-tiered teams to show they are progressing and none of this is a mirage.

Definitely the Leafs need to beat some good teams to validate themselves as 2 wins over Montreal, 1 over Ottawa, 1 over Winnipeg, and 1 over Calgary which are all weak teams (and Canadian teams). OT loss to Colorado and got blown on by Boston.

Seems like Schenn has lost his confidence so far this year... He seems lost with the puck at times.

blehhh, gotta give it to Jagr though hes still a force to be reckoned with. I think Ovechkin needs to take em down a notch again ;) lol

Nice win for the Leafs over the Rangers tonight. 6-2-1 so far. 13 points out of 18 potential ones. Hopefully they can keep it up. Connolly looked good in his first game back. Best game by Gusty this season. With Reimer on IR they need Gusty to play like this.

Seriously where are all the Leafs fans on this site?
Leafs still need more production from the Grabo/Kuli/Mac line to continue being successful. Getting some unlikely scoring from Steckel and Brown. Lombardi has been a revelation along with Lupul. These guys have talent. Happy to see Connolly play his 1st game as a Leaf and he looked good.

I just read Kessel is banged up but it didn't say what though. If he is injured, another call up for Kadri (again)? And I don't know what's going on with Reimer. I mean maybe Gustavsson can hold the fort for a bit and Scrivens seems reliable but I'm a bit worried about Reimer. Overall, the team is solid at 6 and 2. I'll take that anyday. Better than 4 and 4 last year.
