Speaking of the #ed RC from 01-02, does anyone know if the Ty Conklin /1 was ever pulled?

Yeah, I saw that Datsyuk too! That seller is crazy...I think he works for eBay and paid with his ebay bucks...Get his UD Premier Datsyuk...that card is way under valued at $200....it really should be near equal to the Kovalchuk in that set.

As I said before Titanium has really become a joke of a set. Just look at he 2000-01 & 2002-03, and 2003-04 #/99 rookies and they sell for half of SPA FW cards even with such low print runs.

It will be interesting what Panini does with Titanium this year, but at one rookie per case, numbered to their jersey numbers again, I still rather have a nice UD Ultimate Auto RC /99.

Hard-signed auto rookies just seem way more appealing and they keep their value over time.

I already have the Premier Datsyuk... have most of Datsyuk's RC stuff except BAP Sapphire, Emerald, Titanium Hobby, and UD Exclusives... maybe UD Mask Gold I'm missing... tough to keep track anymore.

I think your last comment hit the nail on the head... the hard-signed feature of SPFW... remember when Pinnacle first released Press Plates, and how stupid hard those were to find, and when UD did cards #ed/100 in 96-97 (BD Run for the Cup, UD HH Gold, UD LSH Finals, etc)? Those were so tough to find and went (and still go for) crazy money... now you can pull a base card #ed/100 out of any box you buy (seems like)... the "cool"ness of the tough print runs have long run out... if it doesn't have ink, jersey, or stitching - seems like no one cares.

All the more reason for me to narrow down my collection to select RC's pre-90/91, 90's inserts, YG and SPFW and my game-worn jerseys... and leave the jersey/patch/whatever cards to everyone else..

i'll admit Datsyuk is definitely a better all around player than Kovalchuk. and Datsyuk is great offensively, but he also has better teammates than Kovalchuk, at least when he was with Atlanta. Kovalchuk is a better goal scorer IMO, and can also put up the assists, which a lot of people love to criticize about him, saying he's selfish and what not....just my opinion though.

You know what stat means a lot more than goals, assists, and points? Plus/Minus. Take a look at Datsyuk's for his career(+205), and take a look at Kovalchuk's(-111). Goals, assists, and points apparently aren't what win you Stanley Cups, Selke's, and Lady Byng's, though Pav has those too.

You know what stat means a lot more than goals, assists, and points? Plus/Minus. Take a look at Datsyuk's for his career(+205), and take a look at Kovalchuk's(-111). Goals, assists, and points apparently aren't what win you Stanley Cups, Selke's, and Lady Byng's, though Pav has those too.

Plus minus is one of the most useless stats out there.. Marek freaking Malik led the league in plus minus one year.
