Tavares BAP Rookie Question
I just noticed that Tavares has an 08/09 AND a 09/10 RC with BAP. THe 08/09 one is labelled XRC in Beckett, but they're both listed at $100. Which is considered to be the real one? I like to only collect true RC's or parallels. What are your thoughts? Are there many other times this happens? Why does it happen?

The XRC from 08-09 was a redemption card inserted into packs of the 08-09 product.
The true RC was pack-inserted into the 09-10 product.
This allowed UD to have two different Be A Player "rookie cards" of the same player and royally confuse collectors for years to come.
To further complicate matters, UD messed up many of the redemptions, sending people that were supposed to get a Tavares rookie redemption XRC a card of some scrub, while others that were lucky enough to pull a redemption of Joe Career AHL'er were surprised with Tavares XRC's. To correct the situation UD produced jersey (photoshoot, natch) cards of the redeemed rookies so people who got hosed out of their Tavares XRC ended up getting these cards instead. They're also #'d /99.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

What a crazy situation. Thanks for your help! I'll only go for the REAL one then, the 09/10.
