I'm a New York Rangers collector, so I tend to do team sets as part of my PC.

Most Set collectors are over the age of 30. Actually most set collectors are over 70, or dead.

Not a very fair poll. I could have told you it would be more than 20 to 1 in favour of player collecting.

Set collecting was the norm when only one card per player per year was produced.

I voted both but honestly, I'm not super keen on sets anymore. I've blown 2 up (actually, keeping the base sets but losing the SPs/RCs).

I'm in the both boat! And yes to centrehice! I am over 30, but not dead yet.

I'll still do sets for the fun factor, but my player PC's have been my mainstay. What is the axiom we use for having more than one thing on the go? Oh yeah! Variety is the Spice of life!

I'd go with pc because I have started a few sets but got bored because you're basically getting same card but of a different player each time. if your set consists of 30-40 cards then definitely feels a long time until you complete it. And then after you've completed it what're you going to do with it? Probably sell it. Also you can't trade or resell cards seperately then the value of your set just decreases.
I like pc better. You're getting a variety of cards, and you know you will never get every card unless it's a player with not many cards out. So if you do choose Patrick Roy as a pc player you know you'll never get all of his cards, so you can just resell any cards of him seperately.

Interesting perspective MasonRaymond - I have been trying to complete as much of SPA and UD1/2 as possible past year or so. I do get what you mean about same looking cards.

do you mean set collector vs player collector? PC = personal/private collection so by definition, any set a set collector keeps is in the PC.
