RNH Young Gun
Wow - I think people are overpaying huge for this card. I realize he is the top rookie in the class and the YG is a standard in rookie collecting and the first true rookie released on the year, but $100+ for him? I bet this settles down in the $40 range in a year, like Toews.

It's because Series 1 is incredibly hot right now. In a month or so when new products are out, the price will drop. But then you will see cards from those new products rise insanely high. It's a vicious cycle lol.

Taylor Hall, John Tavares - same exact thing. They were $100-$120 cards when they first popped up.
RNH will be the same thing. $40-$60 after Christmas.

Not sure about his prices dropping too much - it's different this year with the new UD "Canada Rule" so that's going to affect supply/demand. Also, RNH is the most talented and hyped rookie in several years, surpassing Hall and Tavares.
It's just the beginning of the season and if his numbers (and Landeskog as well ftm) take off his YG prices will only go up.

I do not agree. The hype over Hall was enormous, based in no small part on his back-to-back Memorial Cup MVP's. Hopkins doesn't have that kind of pedigree behind him and I doubt the prices will. The "Canada Rule" you speak of will have no bearing on availability of his YG's - there's already been 100 of them posted on eBay that are active or completed already, and the product's just been out a couple of days.
Prices will stabilize and they will come down much like the last two priority YG's before them.

+1, no matter the skill level its still Series 1 and the YGs are mass produced. Like Rich said its been a few days and theres over 100 raining through ebay. The only ones that will stay at high prices is the high gloss

I guess we'll see...
The 11/12 YG class as a whole is exremely strong with very young players full of potential, many of which are already playing at a very high level (Landeskog, Smith, Hodgson, Henrique).
