Question about this card
I pulled this out of a cheap box set some time ago and was wondering if the payer actually signed almost 8 thousand of these? Poor guy must have had hand cramps! LOL

Things were different back then. Instead of having the rookies sign 7000 cards across 15 sets, back then they only had to sign the same card 7000 times.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

What is that? An old Winnepeg Jets jersey that they had to block out the logo?

Yeah that was back in the mid-90's when Signature Rookies was trying to secure a Contract with the NHLPA, and the other three big sports to become a player in the Card game.
Their big push was to be a major producer of autographed up and comers. Part of their big attempt was getting Jagr to sign loads of cards to get some interest in what they had in the works in the Hockey side. I, and only I believe this is one of the reasons Jagr doesn't do many autos, because of the tired hand he got after penning so much.
Eventually this was around the time collecting was really waning, and the overproduction, and lack of interest sank them quickly. They merged with Sports Heroes soon after, and for me at least, I never heard of them again. Also they were the the first real redemption kings on the block. Some of the players couldn't get all of the autos done before packaging, and release, that SR had to pile in redemption's for the cards that didn't make it back to them on time. That added to frustrations, and people shying away.
However, if anything. Yes there may be a lot of these autos out there, but dare to try and find them. It's like your 5000 count box of Pro-Set. Yup you have a lot, but do you remember where you put that box? Or Care!Searching for: Jagr, Palffy, Stumpel, and Boyd

After hearing about how valuable some of the exceeding rare error variants are, a little bit. Apparently there's a bloodied Ray Bourque that'll fetch a pretty decent chunk of change.
