Opinions? (eBay feedback)
A couple weeks ago, I won three Salming 80's base cards in a lot. $0.99, and $2.50 for shipping. Seems reasonable enough. Just over $1 per card for my collection.
Well, they showed up yesterday in a PWE. Also, all three cards were in one toploader. Now, the latter doesn't bother me nearly as much as being charged $2.50 for a $0.75 total in materials (including postage), with the risk of the cards being damaged in the mail due to the different methods of processing PWEs to bubble envelopes. They may only be base cards, but as a buyer I expect some care to be shown.
The kicker is, this seller also has well over 11,000 positive feedback (100%).
So that being said, I left neutral feelback, and explaied why as succinctly as possible.
Today I get a refund of the shipping cost, and a request to revise my feedback. I would like to talk to the seller first; however, it seems I am unable to contact the seller despite having tried for the last half hour. I am happy that I received swift communication for once, but I feel as if they are trying to bribe their way into positive feedback, without even giving me the option to talk about why I left neutral feedback in more depth.
My question is, what would you do at this point?

Right from the start, I would have left positive feedback (so in this instance, I would revise and leave positive)
You paid $1 for the lot, and $2.50 for shipping & handling. For me.... one thing needs to happen in this transaction for me to leave positive:
- I recieve the item(s) as described
Sounds like that happened.
Now - I agree with you. PWE are not good. Especially when you're paying $2.50 (or sometimes more??) for shipping. If I get a card in the mail that was shipped via PWE, I immediatly leave 1 star for shipping costs (unless the shipping charges were $1 or less).
Positive feedback, low DSR rating (though now you may not be able to leave any stars for shipping costs - as you've essentially gotten it for free shipping) and a comment in the feedback like "Got the cards safely, but ships in PWE" would be appropriate, at least I think.

I think it warrants a positive feedback. You got what was promised to you. I wouldn't even hit the DSR's especially now that you got the shipping refunded. You got what was promised and in a timely manner.

This is my take: If I get the cards I bought in proper condition, the seller gets a positive feedback. No if's, and's, or but's. I may ding the DSR's if they over-charge on shipping, but that is all.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

just out of curiosity what was the sellers name? I just had this same problem charged 2.50$ for shipping for my Kessel Contenders 1/1 and it was shipped in a PWE. Cant give negative feedback if u got your cards, but I put in my positive feedback at the end "Sent in PWE"

I think I understand why the seller has 100% positive feedback; I'm assuming your feedback was a derivative of th snippet above.
You objected to the shipping cost and the seller refunded the shipping price. It sounds to me like great customer service. I would adjust the feedback to positive.
Just my $0.02

Positive feedback has been left. Looking back, I've had much worse experiences than this and left positive feedback. It's rare that you'd have a seller so willing to work things out.
Andrew, the seller is bigrocx-auction
