Cell phone data usage...HELP(HTC Status)
Our new billing cycle began just moments ago, but states that I've already used 766 of 2048MB. I haven't even used my phone for several hrs. What gives?
Also...
possibly buyin' a laptop tomorrow nite.
Our PC has DSL connection.
What do I need for laptop internet connection?

Do you have any internet apps or the internet open even when your not using them? I know my iphone still used some data even after I stopped using them. As far as the Laptop internet I just have a router connected to my internet modem so I have a wifi connection. I'm not sure if the HTC has wifi but if it does you could hook the HTC up to your modem like I do with my iphone and you get unlimited data.

I have an internet app on home screen. When I'm finished w/internet, I shut off & restart phone.
I also have facebook, twitter, youtube apps on phone.

That could be the reason why, but I doubt those would be the sole reason 766 was used. Although I know youtube used almost 100 mb for a 5 min video when I had cell data.
