To Troll or Not to Troll

So I check on Craigslist some days when I'm bored and everytime I check, this guy keeps reposting this same ad up for the last 3-4 months like every other day. And it's being posted in not 1, not 2, but 3 different Craigslist cities.

    Arrrrrrgggggggghhhhh!

So I got pissed because he keeps changing the titles sometimes with basic stuff or some other BS and I've clicked his ad about 10x now and I'm really pissed off.

You would be too if some clown had this for sale:

I HAVE 11 BASKETBALL CARD IN GOOD CONDITION

I AM LOOKING FOR OFFERS PLEASE CALL ME OR TEXT ME ANYTIME

    THE CARDS ARE:

    -ALAN OGG (center)-91-92

    -MARIO (guard)-91-92

    -CHARLES BARKLEY (f)-91-92

    -SCOTT BROOKS (guard)

    -WILLIE BURTON (guard/forward)-1991

    -SAM PERKINS (forward/center)-1991

    -LANCE BLANKS (guard) -91-92

    -GERALD GLASS (guard/forward) -91-92

    -TERRY CUMMINGS (forward) -1991

    -TERRY DAVIS (center/forward) -91-92

    -JOHN SALLEY (forward/center) -91-92

And so I thought to myself, if someone hasn't bought your cards in the last 3-4 months, it's because:

    a) They're worthless

    and/or

    b) You're asking too much

So I decided, I'm going to find out what this guy's problem or "malfunction" is if he hasn't gotten a clue yet.

So I asked him politely in an email, "How much?"

And he comes back with: "$2.00 each or best offer."

I'm no genius but I'm pretty positive I can pick the whole set up for less than $10 bucks on eBay. And I'm pretty positive I can buy a pack for $0.50 and pull more cards (14 per pack) and possibly pull better cards than he has in that lot that he wants $22.00 or best offer for.

So now I'm at the point of:

    a) Letting this non-sense go.
    b) Calling him w/ Skype to set up a meeting and then blow him off.
    c) Bombarding him with emails about inquiries to buy but then flaming him
    d) Post a Similar Ad w/ his email and the ad stating he'll pay people to burn the cards

I know I'm wrong but 3-4 months now is long enough of ignoring this ad.

some times you have to let a guy know that they are worthless. I was seeing close to the same thing one time on craigslist. He was trying to sell like 50 90-92 cards for like 200 bucks and his pitch was that the cards was old. I simply emailed him and explained to him that what he was selling was pretty much worthless when it comes to money. I then gave him a number to the local card shop so they could tell him also. The guy sent me a email back telling me he a appreciated me letting him know....I know all people are not like this and some are just tryin to find that 1 person that they can rip off but this guy really didnt know about sports cards. He was thinking the same way we thought as kids and thats if you keep them long enough that will be worth something....sorry about the long story but the guy simply might not know his cards are worthless

I think you are the one with the problem, not the guy selling. He has every right to ask what he wants, but to go to an extreme like posting a drawn out post on a forum about that is ridiculous. Leave the guy alone.

Yeah normally I would just leave it alone after getting a good laugh about their ads. You know the ones where someone had price out their early 90's Donruss Base Cards and it came out to $400 Book Value and they only want half of the Book Value or "Best Offer".

But after clicking on it more than 10x now, it's beginning to drive me nuts with the title changes.

It's like, you're 95% sure it's this guy's ad but there's that 5% chance it might be someone else's ad and there might be some obscure Jordan Inserts that is buried in there.
