Shaq vs Barkley?
Both HOF and former MVP's. In terms of hobby popularity who wins and why?

Shaq wins. He has more rings he's always been in the media and 90% of it's good...Barkley was never a fan of the media and he originated "i'm not a role-model." Barkley has no rings...personally i never liked Shaq i was a BIG Barkley fan, though...

Hands down, Shaq.
Charles Barkley has that Dave Winfield, Nolan Ryan, Marcus Allen, Eric Dickerson, Clyde Drexler, and Dennis Rodman effect.
His triumphs were split on 2 or more teams (Philadelphia and Phoenix), so he doesn't have a Home Base. Though Nolan Ryan is becoming more associated with the Rangers now because he spent his last playing years there, spent most of his retirement in the Organization, and now being part owner of the Rangers. Though a guy like Kevin Garnett and Jason Kidd are going to run into that area.
I think we can all say that Shaq is and will always be associated with the Lakers.
And with that being said, having the 2nd biggest media market, to go with a Top 3 Fan Base in that particular sport, multiple championships, and the fact that you have more people who collect based off their favorite teams vs. just specific players, basically solidifies Shaq's status over Barkley's.
I would even guess that there are more Karl Malone, David Robinson, and Patrick Ewing collectors than there is Barkley.Last edited by Nasty_Boy; 11-26-2011 at 08:17 PM.

Raiders fans hate Marcus Allen because he went to the enemy. And I think he won't even sign Raiders stuff for a while there.
You can basically say, Marcus Allen lost his Raiders fan base.
I'm no Raiders fan. But I can attest to you and everybody else that here in Northern California, Raiders stuff gets as much love from Raiders fans as Japanese Players do on eBay from Japanese Buyers. But Marcus Allen is basically like a step brother or estranged spouse in the Raider Nation.Last edited by Nasty_Boy; 11-26-2011 at 08:39 PM.

Al Davis didn't like Marcus Allen. TRUE Raiders fans appreciate EVERYTHING he did for the Raiders organization...opinions vary of course...
