    Slabbed Cards: Yay or Nay?

I have never been a fan of slabbed cards, graded or factory-slabbed. They are bulky, cumbersome and hard to store and display. That's one reason I have shied away from most of the In The Game products.

What do you think of slabbed cards?

Cards are cards. Manufacturer can present them however they please. Graded slabs are personal choice. It protects the card, so I like it. Personally, if it costs more for a slabbed card than a raw one, I'll get the raw one though.

Hella-Nay. I'm the touchy-feely type. I like to hold the card in hand, caress the memorabilia, smell the sweat, inhale the history, taste the.....you get the idea.

Sure, you protect the integrity and condition of the card, but at the cost of separating the hobbyist from the hobby.

    Works for high end vintage.

Why slab a base card that was printed yesterday and is worth $2. The slab is worth more.

+1. Unless its high end vintage or high end RCs (i.e. Crosby YG) then i stay away from slabbed stuff.

I don't collect graded cards for my PC whatsoever, but don't mind slabbed ITG cards at all. They have been doing this for years and I like the fact it protects the integrity of game used pieces they use in the product, especiallly in this day and age.

ITG UM is all I collect.

I dont care if I cant touch the game used piece(Anyway, who do that???)
The card will be pristine forever and I dont have to worry about the condition of the cards when I buy from others.

    Now, that's a true collector!

To me slabbing a card to protect it is like buying a Ferrari displaying it instead of driving it.
