1/1 Collector's: Would you part with them...

This may have been asked before, but can't recall.

I'm sure players like to collect their own cards, and even they have to compete with all of us for the 1/1's.

If the player you collected asked for your 1/1's, what would it take for you to part with them?

I only have two 1/1 cards: A Black Diamond Dainius Zubrus and a Gold Label Class 3 Nik Antropov. Normally, someone would have to offer a lot to pry them from my hands, but the actual player himself? I think if either player asked me for the cards, I would give them up for a handshake and a photo.

I'm giving my 1/1 Darroll Powes and all his SP Serial numbered to his Dad, as soon as I can get my hands on more than the 3 three 1/1's that I already have, some day they will be Darroll's so I know they are going where they belong.

Since I am a hockey guy I think I would try and trade them off for a set of tickets to an upcoming game. Or maybe try to get an auto game stick or game jersey.

They have enough money (well most of them do)

I think it would really depend on the player

If a player wanted it, I'd say, well give me 1% of your paycheck(1 million$$$$$$$$$$) and then id trade

Hockey players tend to be pretty generous group as a whole. If you gift the card(s) to the player in person, you shouldn't expect anything in return, but I wouldn't be surprised if you received cards/memorabilia/tickets or something nice in return.

Well if Sundin wanted my collection he could have it for tickets to his jersey # retirement ceremony against Montreal in Feb at the ACC with airfare, accommodation, meet & greet, in person auto jersey, and photo. That experience would be worth more than having the collection of his cards. Wouldn't just give them up for free to him as he can obviously pay!
