Card value questions
A few questions I'm a bit confused about...
1. Why are the rookie lettermens /99 not in Beckett? Is it because it depends on how many letters a player has in his last name which therefore depends its value?
2. I haven't looked in Beckett about these cards but was curious. For the cup rookie auto patches /jersey number, does the value depend on the players jersey number and how low that card is numbered to? What if a players number was 2 or even 1? Would that card be more valuable just because of his jersey number? I know there are no rookies that have a number that low but what if they did? And what if it was a no name rookie? Would it be just as valueable as a jersey number, numbered outta 95 (more print runs) of a star rookie?
thanks guys :)
cheers
Andrew

1. You'd have to ask them that on their boards. They may not have updated the listings after the redemption list was announced, but it's anybody's guess.
2. It very much depends on the player and the number. Duncan Keith remains the shortest of short printed Cup Gold ARP's as he's #'d /2, with Dion Phaneuf closely behind at #'d /3. I paid a pretty penny for my Josh Gorges #'d /6, certainly much more than I did for the true rookie. The Ovechkin /8 I suspect would command a huge premium, certainly more than Crosby's /87 relative to the true RC prices.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

For question 1, are you speaking of individual numbers?
And for #2, Often yes, simple economics come into to play, supply and demand, For players with smaller Jersey #'s the will sell higher then an equivalent player with a large jersey number.
Hoped this helped a bit.

1) I cant aswer that unfortunately
2) I think it does depend on the jersey number. For example the Hall /4 (someone please correct me if im wrong) sold more than the regular one /99 (even though the /4 is not considered a True Rookie) because of how difficult it is to pull/acquire.
I do think in the 08-09 Cup Luke Schenn was /2 (Again some do correct me if Im wrong). As for a lesser name rookie, (Using the example of Cam Fowler and Hall), Fowler also wears the number 4 but UD probably wanted Halll to be the lowest number, so they reverted Fowler to his orginal number he started with before the change

1. are you talking about the rookie lettermans in ud black/99? they are listed in beckett. there are a total of 99 copies regarless of how many letters are in their name. so a longer name can be spelled out less than a short one.

yeah its just like the /15 gold versions from 08-09, they only spell out R O O K I E, but 15/6 = 2.5 possible ROOKIE nameplates, so not all letters are made evenly
