Crosby Rookie Cards... Which is better?
I have a Crosby FWA PSA 9 and paypal saved up... I'm looking at upgrading my Sid RC to a better one. My question is which Sid RC is better than his FWA? Not talking strictly BV, but BV does have weight along with brand, print run, etc...
Sid's Ultimate RC's BV is $100 more but I would consider his FWA superior. Hot Prospects? Rookie Update? Ice (I would prefer an auto)?, or go for a FWA PSA 10 or BGS 9.5?
What is the consensus?
Thanks for any input!

Ultimate would ideally be the bigger card, as theres only a third available compared to FWA (299 vs 999) and Ultimate is a higher end set. Thing is though, the FWA in my opinion has a much nicer design than the Ultimate. Pros and Cons like anything, but the Ultimate would be the higher end card
The hot prospects is a bigger choice as well since you get a patch with the auto, either way you look at it, they are all sweet lol

gotta have fwa, but id say maybe a yg exclusives is also up there, or as said, the ultimate rookie auto.

Yes Ultimate is a higher-end but is it better? I guess it comes down to the "eye of the beholder" lol... but it seems that collectors prefer and seek the FWA over the Ultimate RC... What way to go??? Thinking a higher graded FWA.... Any other thoughts? What would you do?

If it came down to a choice over any Sid RC I would take his Ice RC (yes, even over The Cup) because it is simple and gorgeous.
I would not get the Hot Prospects because it's a sticker auto, the Rookie Update isn't a true RC, SPx, again sticker. In your case I would upgrade to Ultimate. It's better looking, lower print run, and just as collectible as the FW.Last edited by Phoenix; 12-02-2011 at 02:26 PM.

Beckett lists the Rookie Update as a true RC. It is #'d in the base set.

What's a Beckett?
I was thinking the one /23, not the /199. I guess it could be considered a RC, but I don't see it as one. To me a RC should be a stand-alone, not a dual player. I realize it's a Crosby/Crosby (because daddy is a tool), but the rest of the cards in the set are duals, so the intent is there.

The /199 is the RC, the /23 is a parallel. Whether you agree with it or not, it's listed as an RC and is considered an RC by the general public.
