    Basketball Trading Cards

    Hello everyone, I am new to this site and new to collecting cards and I have a few questions.

    -What is the best way to acquire basketball trading cards?
    -Best brand for rookie cards?
    -Best brand for autographs?

    best way is to go to your local hobby shop and buy some packs or boxes, right here on scf in the basketball section, ebay, or checkoutmycards.com.

    only brand for new rookie cards is panini now

    panini has great autographs as well as upper deck. UD will all be in college uniform.

    As geoffyb said, there is only one brand of cards now. Panini has an exclusive license with the NBA.

    You can get basketball cards at your local retail store (e.g. Target, Dollar Tree, Toys R Us), but the odds of getting good cards there are low / impossible. Your odds of getting good cards are better by looking for boxes & packs made specifically for the hobby. You can do some google searches for "hobby" vs "retail".

    Thanks, thats pretty lame, only one brand of cards.
    I've seen Panini at Wal-Mart, but I checked there a few days ago, they don't have them anymore, I'll keep checking.

    What retail stores sell Basketball Cards other than WalMart, I heard Dollar Tree, but I looked there didn't see any.

    kmart, target, fye. best stuff will be in a card shop though. keep that in mind. typically in retail stores all you will get is base cards.
