    Question For Team Collectors

I'm a Knicks collector and one of my goals is to collect as many autographs of players who played for the Knicks. Now, we all know that's an impossible task, but I am to try anyway.

My question is, if there is no card of the player in your team uni, would you add a college card of his or even one of him in a diffrent uni? I'm pretty strick about the player being in a Knicks uni, but have been rethinking my position on it as of late and wondered what my fellow team collectors felt on the subject.

My collecting goal is the same as yours except I collect Bulls instead of Knicks. . . I usually avoid players picture in other team uniforms at all costs because they just don't look right in my PC. I do have a couple of players autos in their college uniform though since I figure some players nba certified auto have them in college uniforms, so it'll be okay to add some in their college uniform too, but I try to avoid it if I could.

I was thinking of going the college route for cert. auto cards, like Mark Jackson. I'm not sure if he has a Knicks cert auto card, like he has for Indiana. I know he has some St. Johns cards, so I can do that if I wanted.

There are older players like DeBusschere (I know I mis-spelled that :P) and Bill Bradley that I probably would rather pick up a PSA auto card as it might be cheaper than a cut auto. They are the 2 I'm missing for the starting 5 of the 69-70 Championship team. Jerry Lucas certified is also an expensive auto.

Some great collections here. Keep the ideas coming.

I'm a toronto raptors collection and i ferl your pain. A lot of the players that i try to obtain are either no names or made a career else where. I love to find them in a raptors uni, but it's virtually impossible. I go buy Josun rule:
    1) nba certified auto in raptors jersey
    2) nba certified auto in diff jersey
    3) college certified auto
    4) IP auto
    5) TTM auto
    6) buy an ip/ttm

Always nice to see another NYK team collector! I'm strict about the player being in a NYK uniform on the card. However, in say Othella Harrington's case where he has no autos. in a NYK uniform I made an exception for him and picked up an auto. of his on another team. Hated to do it but had to, really wanted an Othella auto for the collection....

Good luck with your Knicks team collection! Can't wait to see what you get. I really need to update my thread with my tons of new Knicks pick ups, ugh, laziness sucks, ya know?
