Former Dallas Mavericks forward Caron Butler agreed to a three-year, $24 million contract with Los Angeles Clippers Thursday, according to his agent Raymond Brothers.
Butler had also considered San Antonio, New Jersey and Chicago, but ultimately the opportunity to team with Blake Griffin and Eric Gordon in Los Angeles proved too enticing.

Tyson Chandler near deal with Knicks

In the latest twist of his expected departure from the Dallas Mavericks, Tyson Chandler is closing in on a deal with the New York Knicks, according to sources close to the process.
"It's 98 percent sure that Tyson is going to wind up with the Knicks."

Greg Oden to accept Blazers' offerDecember 8, 2011, 5:08 PM ET
PORTLAND, Ore. -- Center Greg Oden , Portland's often-injured former No. 1 draft pick, will sign the Trail Blazers' $8.9 million qualifying offer on Friday, Oden's agent said.
The deal, first reported by The Oregonian newspaper, means that Oden will become an unrestricted free agent after this season.

Source: Tayshaun Prince stays a Piston

Tayshaun Prince will be returning to the Detroit Pistons after reaching agreement on a $27 million, four-year contract, a league source told ESPN The Magazine's Ric Bucher.
The deal cannot be formally completed until Friday, when the league opens training camps.

Shane Battier to sign with Heat

MIAMI -- Needing to upgrade their bench, the Miami Heat have landed a significant addition in veteran Shane Battier.
Battier announced on his Twitter account Thursday that he plans to sign with the Heat when free agency opens on Friday afternoon. A number of contending teams had been courting Battier over the last few days, including the Orlando Magic and San Antonio Spurs.

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. -- Steve Nash is going to have a new alley-oop partner this season.
Unrestricted free agent and former Los Angeles Lakers guard Shannon Brown will sign a one-year, $3.5 million deal with the Phoenix Suns, sources told ESPN the Magazine's Chris Broussard on Thursday.
