    Heisman Trophy Presentation Successes

Got lucky and was able to get into the Heisman Trophy presentation tonight. GREAT night for autographs. My best night ever. I have one of those autograph football with the white panels signed by 8 people.
Autographs I got on the football-
    - Jim Plunkett with '70 inscription
-Tony Dorsett with '76 and #33 inscription
    - Les Miles (very pleasant guy to speak with)
    - Johnny Lattner (Old time ND Heisman winner. Incredibly kind)
    - Tyrann Matthieu with #7
    - Trent Richardson with #3
    - Robert Griffin III with #6
    - Montee Ball with #28

And my favorite prize of the night. An 8x10 signed by Andrew Luck. As a Colts fan, it was really cool to meet my (probable) future qb. Very nice, polite, well spoken guy. Signed my 8x10, thanked me for support, shook my hand. Even amidst a huge crowd and after having lost the Heisman, he still had good manners.

Dude that is so awesome!!! I live in Waco, which is where Baylor is, so I'm hoping I can get an RGIII autograph soon. Why did Robert Griffin put #6?

It's actually a 10. The 1 was connected to the 0 making it look like a 6, but at second glance, it is a 10. RG3 was a really cool dude. He was funny on stage, and he was really nice when I met him backstage before the show started. RG3, Luck, and Montee Ball were all really nice guys. Matthieu and Richardson were more reserved, and didn't talk too much while they signed.

I actually ran in a track meet against RGIII in high school when he was at Copperas Cove...well, I was at the meet and ran the same race, but it wasn't really a competition lol he is super fast!!! That was before he sported the dreads. I've heard he is really nice, a friend of mine saw him at the movie theater here and said he talked to him for a while and gladly took pictures with everyone.

Cool successes. I was in NYC yesterday but had to leave in the morning or else I would have tried as well.

That is so awesome, incredible successes! Just wondering, how do you do it? After the presentation, do all of the heisman winners & candidates stick around for autographs? Or do you try and get them on the way out?

Hey man, I was there too and got Dorsett, Floyd Little, Jim Plunkett and Mike Rozier. Where and how did you get any of the Heisman candidates? I hung out by the Marriott Marquis for a little while after the ceremony, but I couldn't find Luck or Richardson and Griffin wouldn't sign.

MSU, there's a preparty before the actual presentation. It began at about 5:30, and ran until about 7:15, when they asked us to begin to make our way towards our seats. During the preparty, the former Heisman winners that show up walk around, talk, sign, etc. It's all surprisingly very easy. All the past winners are glad to sign, talk, take pictures, etc.
Phillykid, after the show went off the air, all the finalists and Griffin were down in front of the stage. They allowed us to go down to the stage area, where they were all standing. Griffin was being mobbed, and rushed backstage to take pics and do interviews, but I got him just in time. Luck was the other one being mobbed, because they were all asking him questions about why he didn't win, etc. So in the meantime, I ran over to Richardson and Matthieu who were saying goodbye to the people around them. THey both signed the ball, then I went on the stairs of the stage to spot Montee Ball, who was real cool and signed the ball too. My #1 target of the night, Andrew Luck, was still being mobbed, but I managed to make my way towards him and get one of the 8x10s out of my backpack. Then I waited around in the party room to see if the other finalists would come out to sign again, because I had 8x10s of them, but they never came out.

Oh ok, by the time I went down to the front of the stage, the Heisman finalists were all gone. That's awesome that you got them man, congrats.
