Question about shields

Patrick Roy retired in 2003

How can 2011 products have game used shields of a silver NHL shield,
The silver wasn't used until 2004-2005, Roy would have never used a silver shield?

I think you're confusing the post-lockout logo with the pre-lockout logo.
The pre-2004 ones were silver or orange depending on the jersey and were stitched INTO the fabric. After the lockout they switched to the 3D-like logo that is stitched ONTO the jersey.
