Topps UFC Price Fluctuation
Just looking for some input here.
With all other sports you can buy low and then sell high after a good game or hot streak. With MMA - why is there little/no price fluctuation after a big win? I don't have long term statistics, but after the last few events I checked Frank Mir/Little Nog cards after their wins and there is no change nor a flood of cards hitting the market. Is it just a lack of popularity or do they have to have an epic rise like Jon Jones?

i follow the prices like crazy because i help with an mma price guide on another site. Most of the guys who get the price bumps are either up and comers who have a big win or someone with a big upset. if a guy wins a fight they were expected to win, there is little to no bump.
the best thing about a big win is that you find a slight increase in the listed cards of that fighter and might find someone listing the rare stuff.

I think ensbergcollector is bang on...the prospects and the upsets have big jumps.
Another reason is because the fighters are fresh in people's memory. I'm a casual collector and theres so much product that I search for specific things and its human nature to search for fighters you've seen recently....more watchers equals higher overall prices.
Few recent examples:
My bought my hendo round 2 auto for $22....after he beat shogun, I sold it for $50 and I know someone paid as much as $60.
Picked up a Dominick Cruz 1st auto for $20 and sold one for $45 after he beat Johnson.

The opposite is equally true. Ryan Bader's cards were selling high (at least $30) when he was on his win streak, now his rc auto's are going for like $6.
