It seems to me they made a trade just to make a trade. It is clear who wins in this situation. You give up an above average PF, a potential future all star SG that can get you 20 ppg, one of the above average rookies of last season, AND a first round draft pick (which will most likely be a very high one) in one of the bests drafts in the last decade.... Really makes little sense.

I think a lot of teams would love to have Chauncey, and I think he'd rather play more minutes for a team like Miami or the Lakers.

As a basketball team, would you rather have:
A) Emeka Okafor, Luis Scola, Lamar Odom, Trevor Ariza, Kevin Martin
B) Emeka, Okafor, Chris Kama, Farouq Aminu, Trevor Ariza, Eric Gordon
Who in their crazy mind would choose B?

That's not what the Lakers trade was that was vetoed. It was a three team trade by the way too.

Not that bad of a trade for the Clippers in my opinion. You give up an unproven player in Aminu, a center that is very injury prone and probably would not have been retained next season anyway (they made that clear with matching the offer sheet for Deandre) and a star two guard (not superstar) that is undersized and not really known for his defense though! The pick from the Wolves is anything but a sure thing top 5 pick.
And you get the second best point in the league back for it?! No brainer in my opinion!
Just compare these two starting five's: Bulls 62-20 East Finals (Noah,Boozer,Deng,Bogans,Rose) and the new look Clippers Deandre,Griffin,Butler,Billups,CP3, looks like a pretty simillar team set-up.
Clippers are gonna be monster this year!
