Is it common practice to ask for a certain amount in pp...then in trade for the same cards, ask for more in trade value?? Trade value is based off of current sell values.

I would say that each person and each deal is different...I guess it all depends on how bad you want the cards.

I'd say it's quite common

The difference is you have to compare the paypal to the trade - regardless of if it's the same "sale value"

Simply put - $200 cash is worth more to someone 90% of the time then $200 in trade unless that $200 in trade is for the exact cards I'd spend $200 on.

I wouldn't say there should be a "big" difference.

But if you offered me $200 cash or $200 in cards I like, but probably wouldn't be what I'd spend the $200 on, then I might need like $225 to get the deal done.

So all depends on the cards in the trade. If it was $200 in cards that I would legitimately purchase then the values should be the same. If it's just a few nice items and maybe tradebait then I might ask for a bit more in trade.

its a pretty common practice, i use it my self. But like the guy above me mentioned its not a huge difference if im asking 200 for something ill probably ask for 225 or so in trade. the reason is simply that if im looking to sell then when i trade im going to get something back to sell. as a general rule of thumb your probably going to get 10-15 percent below ebay for what your selling. so if i trade a card im trying to sell for 200 for 200 in cards and then sell those im probably going to get around 175-180 for it whereas if i get 225 worth of cards then sell im going to get around 200 for them.
