I've been having this happen a lot recently...seems most commonly the post office of origin (either where you dropped it off, or where the sort begins in the process) doesn't scan in the item, which seems to prevent any info being updated, sometimes until it's either delivered, or never (had this happen a couple times even though the DC was on the package when it arrived).
Seems like a PO issue though - if you have a receipt showing you shipped it, with the buyers info/tracking # etc, you should be covered, and I'd forward that receipt to the buyer who is questioning you.
Funny thing is though, as far as I know, the DC really only protects you, the seller. As a buyer I never pay extra for this service - insurance sure, but not DC. On, the other hand, as a seller, I always add it...
Good luck

Tell him that patience is a virtue. Amazing that after only a week people are threatening to pull out the negative feedback.
