    Am I Silly?

A few days ago, I had my nephew over and he asked me if he could see my card collection so I let him, well after it was all said and done, he said he was gonna start collecting and asked me for some cards to help get him started so I gave him several of my commons because I really just collect certain players and rookies, game used, autos, and inserts. Was I dumb for that or not? Also speaking of rookies, I was going through my rookies and I noticed that on a 2002 Bowman #251 says bowman rookie card, well it is Ricky Williams and his rookie year I believe is 99 so is this an error card?

A: No, commons are a good starting point. In 1998 my mom got 2 boxes of 1990 Pro Set FB (cheapest set EVER made, literally) through a raffle at work and I've been hooked since. Those wern't worth a penny but I couldn't care less... I had fun with them.

B: After the Ricky Williams was traded to the Dolphins the Saints picked up another RB named Ricky Williams. It doesn't help that he has a similar body build and such. Many people were confused. So yes, it's Ricky Williams #2's RC.

No problem. I had to take a double-take when I pulled his Topps RC.

Exactamundo! I used to buy packs of that as a little tike and since then i can't get enough. All those cards, basically no inserts worth anything, but so many cards! I think that's why i like the new topps.

Your Not silly at all, i do this all the time. I love helping younger Kids start up a collection even if they are not worth alot of money. I mean we all have Tons of Commons that we just stick in Boxes and forget about. Every Year i Package about 100-150 Team Bags and Give them to my Local Childrens Ward , that they distribute to all the Kids who are stuck in the Childrens Ward. If i had the time i would do more-but Work has me pretty Busy most of the time.

I love doing this for the Children and the Nurses in the NICU there , as they did alot for my son when he was in there.

So i would like to say Congrat's to you on helping a Young child get involved in something that they enjoy and have fun doing. Other than Gangs and such.

Well that is a goood deed to give the kids your commons Im just gonna start giving my nephew all my commons to get him started to a good collection.I like to see kids spending money on stuff that interrests them and they can enjoy doing it. You know its a lot better seeing the young generation spending their money on football cards instead of tobacco, drugs and all that other stuff that is corrupting these kid's minds it sad to see that.
