    Groundhog Day joke

Just had a client (staunch Republican) send me this, I thought the P&R forum would get a chuckle:

In the coming New Year, 2012, both Groundhog Day and the State of the Union
address will occur on the same day.

This is an ironic juxtaposition of events.

One involves a meaningless ritual in which we look to an insignificant
creature of little intelligence for prognostication.

    The other involves a groundhog.

I am allowed to laugh? LOL

In all seriousness, I have never, ever watched a SOTU address. Nothing irks me more than a politician grandstanding for partisan purposes.

I don't really care for them either regardless of who the president is.

I'm not a huge fan either, though I still watch them. I think in hopes that someone will pull a Gerald Ford and say "The state of the union is not good".
