Scanning questions?
Im trying to scan some cards and was wondering, when you have to scan a ton of cards,
1. How do you keep the card from moving on the scanner, it seems like the glass /card is too slippery and moves during scanning. so ill have to keep re positioning the card which sometimes takes 3-4 tries to get one good scan..any tips?
2. Is there any quick way to scan cards? do you have any tips?

I put them in 9 card pages... Usually keeps them pretty still

what if i just wanted a single scan of the card, not a scan of 9 cards.

As far as the sliding on the platen goes, that's a tough one...slow and steady wins the race, I guess. I just got done scanning almost 15,000 cards in the last few months and had this problem with the really glossy ones, and the cards that have a natural curve to them, but the only way I could do it was to take my time and lay them on very slowly and hope for the best when I closed the lid. Another idea would be to scan the cards in binder pages and then crop each one individually afterwards, but hardly worth the effort.
Some scanners come with a feature that detects multiple images and will scan them individually, as many as you can fit on your scanner bed without touching each other. I had to turn this feature on on my scanner, it was off in the default settings, although some scanners may just auto detect (mine is an older model)

I downloaded a program called irfanview and it scans the page then lets you edit it afterwards... literally takes me 10 seconds to scan 9 cards... If you are just doing on put it in a toploader and put the card clear at the bottom and you should be able to pick it up... takes a couple extra second but you will get a good scan everytime

Depending on how computer savvy you are, you can use GIMP, download a script for it that when you scan multiple things at once (i.e. a page of cards) it can automatically split them into separate images. Here is a link for a little more info.
