Prucha rookie for $1000+?
I don't even know if he is in the NHL still. Even if he was he isn't a super star. I get it The Cup and multi color but $1000??

It's because it is a 1/1, it is the only one numbered 147/199.

Wow! After several rounds of "normal" bidding, the price jumps from $120 all the way to $611! That's insane!

I was watching two cards from the same seller - Dan Paille cup card (3 color) and a Brad Winchester cup card (3 color). Each went for 152.50 and I thought that was too high. They went from 20 to 150 in the last hour. The Prucha price really is insane.

I was watching the Howard, Lundy and Ward as well. While the Lundy went for a more "reasonable" price, the Howard and Ward went about double what I thought it would go for.
I believe the seller is or was a member here, and there are also quite a few people who know him. Maybe they can chime in ..... im actually wondering if the sales are going through

Wow insane doesnt even begin to describe the prices on those cards. What ever happened to Prucha anyway? One day he was doing decent with the rangers and the next thing i know he's gone.

I'll repeat my comments from another site and add a few more:
I'm actually surprised it's taken so long for some of these 05/06 Cup 3+ color patched RC's to reach these prices and I suspect that the poor economic conditions for many people are to blame. These are the top end RC's for all these players and there are only so many 3+ colors that exist and only so many that hit the market and once they park in someone's PC, the supply dwindles then "supply and demand" dictate that prices should increase. But as well, most people don't know the prices that Crosby Cup 3 color RC's have been achieving...
In addition, the 3+ color Prucha is extremely rare (less than 10 copies exist), as is the 3+ color Carter and some of the others auctioned had fabulous patches. So people trying to create a set of nice 3+ colored 05/06 Cup RC's were likely in on the auctions...along with individual player collectors going for "the" RC. What you see are knowledgeable collectors chasing nice cards that are becoming harder to find.
