Ebay question?

So i need some help guys i sold a item on ebay and in the item listing i put 1/1.
the guy now tells me that he is not going to pay for the item because it was not a actual 1/1.
but in the item description i explained that the card indeed is not a actual 1/1.
can i do anything about this because ebay charges fees is there anyway to get that money back from the buyer or from ebay? or am i screwed because it was not a actual 1/1.

i mean i have seen tons of people do this and i dont know if its against the rules or not.

any help would be great.

Do you have the actual numbering listed in the description? If so, I don't see how you've done anything wrong. If it is just some idiot who didn't read the listing before making a bid, you shouldn't have any problems. I would open a claim against him. You shouldn't have any issue with that.

I did state that it was not a one of one and he asked me after he bought the item if it was stamped one of one. So.he probably didn't read it. But I'm going to.get my fees back and just re sell the item

I used to have a saved search for 1/1 in the basketball section, and I would get daily emails of all the new 1/1 listings. Overnight it seemed, I was getting dozens of 1/1 hits in my saved searches emails. Extremely annoying and counter-productive that I deleted the search. I get that you explained in the description that it's not really a 1/1, but that's not the point. Collectors shouldn't have to treat cards like used cars. It's really a black and white issue. It's either stamped 1/1 on the card or it's not.

Off my soapbox now. Hard to tell which way Ebay will rule on this one. If I was the claims rep., I'd side with the buyer.

Also the guy was complaining that it wasn't a 1/1 but I looked at his feedback and the first card I seen was a.Steven Jackson 1/1 and it was actually numbered to 50 and he paid for it with no complaints.

If he's not going to pay, just go to cancel transaction and let him accept the cancelled transaction, ebay won't take their percent until payment is made, you will loose the listing cost of $.50 or what ever it was most likely, small price to pay to not deal with someone your not going to make happy and might get bad feedback with.

One of the (many) flaws of ebay is that people can STILL leave feedback despite a transaction being cancelled...

try to cancel the transaction...but either way your wrong for listing a non 1/1 as a 1/1

If the buyer did not read the description then shame on him... BUT if he was upset I would cancel and re-list and hopefully avoid a neg.

There are hundreds+ of "1/1" listings on eBay that are not true 1/1's so I consider the listing title for about a second and then read the full description.

In any event it's unfortunate to have to deal with these things and maybe you proof read your listing next time... Lol
