Suspicious email from Paypal

I got an e-mail saying there was a problem with my account.. The link brought me to the paypal log in page.. Logged in fine... It then brought me to a page where it wanted my card # and social security #. Anyone else get these?

Oh, and the e-mail was from [email protected].... With two "l"'s.

Looks like a backdoor program to collect some information from you. PayPal would never misspell their name in an email.

I wouldn't have clicked any link in that email. Instead, I would've typed in "paypal.com" in the address bar and then logged in. Then I'd have asked PayPal support about the email.

Yeah those emails are bogus. I send them to [email protected] if I get them. They would never ask for your social security #.

Ran a virus scan, nothing came up. I sent it to the spoof email. Chaning password now.

I got a few of those over the years too, they're bogus.. scams.

Just like those "Nigerian" scams.. where they ask you to send over like $10,000 in order to unlock millions and they would give you back many times your initial investment.
