Has this happened to you??
has anyone seen a Huge PC card on ebay and have to the money to buy it but it ends like this one did:
http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...#ht_720wt_1185
I had my max bid at $650 which I know is even way to much but I still get outbid and it gets to $710 + Shipping thats crazy.
I could have bought it but definetly not worth $710 at least to me.
Considering Dominion Sedin dual shield went for just above $400 this is just nuts to me.
So if this did happen to you what card was it and what price did it got for?
and to whoever has any 1 of 1 of daniel sedin I am interested
Thanks
Brent

If it's like you, it's for their PC and some people will put any number on it to make it a part of their PC

I know what you mean. Holding off when the bidding gets way too high can slow down your collection, but I find I sometimes eventually resent a card (silly, haha) if I know I paid way too much for it and others get the same or similar for way cheaper. Money is not everything by any means, but I still like to think I got a decent deal. Usually I don't regret waiting on the card. Most times it'll pop up again. Might be a while, but it usually will.

Exactly the reason why I avoid 1/1s, if they fall on my lap then so be it. Would prefer to collect with the idea if one did slip away, then at least another copy exist to have some hope in the future. One of 5s and 10s bring the rush of the search/hunt and bidding wars. 1/1s becomes an arena for shill bidders and a lack of respect for the value of the dollar.

It appears as though it might have been shill bids that won the item. winner made some suspicious bids early on. Watch for it to be relisted.
(Sorry, not trying to change the topic of your thread)

I've had that happen, where I get outbid despite having already put in what I think is an overly high bid......on 1/1s, nothing is predictable.
On the other hand, I won a card recently for about $300 despite my bid being several hundred dollars higher than the final amount. You just never know.

I doubt it was a shill bidder, if you look at the winners bid history there are bids with a number of sellers. The early bids could simply have been feelers.

There are 2 cards I have watched sell 3 times by the same seller and each time they are run up and "sell". Eventually I hope they sell to me but I refuse to get sucked into a bidding frenzy beyond all reason.

I would avoid that card like the Ebola Virus. Why? Well as soon as the seller decides not to shill and you win your card at a reasonable price, he won't ship you your card and you will have to go through eBay and PayPal to get your money refunded. I'd avoid anything a shill has ever listed or will list in the future.
