First Time BGS Submission

Hello all! Thanks in advance for any info regarding the BGS submission. Just wanted to clarify things.

1-Is it OK to send cards in a top loader?

2-Does the "value" box on the form have to be exact? I don't have a price guide and cannot look up the cards value.

3-What is the best and safest way of payment and confirming everything goes smoothly in the transaction of my cards?

Any other tips that I should keep in mind? Thanks again!

i always set the value at what i would sell the ungraded cards for...as the value is what you have to cover with insurance costs...i always send the cards in toploaders and tape the top...even though they say its at your own risk by taping the top because if they damage the card removing the tape its not their faults...i always send a personal check with my orders....also very very important send your orders with delivery confirmation every time..its amazing how many packages get "lost" from their local post office lol and i cant express this enough send insured to them....

When you say send insured to them, are you referring to get the cards there or to buy the insurance for BGS to return the cards back to you?

I have a fairly large amount of nice cards I'm sending and don't want my first submission to be all batched up lol.

you will want to insure your shipment to them as well as the return from them to you.

Check out packerscorner on youtube. He's got a lot of useful information about sending in graded cards. He uses PSA, but the advice is sound for BGS as well. :)

yes if i remember correctly you have to get insurance when they ship them back...but getting it when you send to them is also a must in my opinion...there was a story on a differentboard few weeks back about a post officwe worker down there taking boxes labeled to bgs...so i get it no matter what the value is..if the cards bv is 150 and it sells for 100...i insure for 100...

What we do is send in a bulk order to BGS for grading. The prices are only $7 per card. That is a steal compared to sending it out on your own. Also shipping will be cheaper as well. If you have any questions feel free to PM me or you can post your questions in the thread I gave you.
