Stiffer Hockey Penalties In MN
Starting immediately, hockey players in Minnesota will have harsher penalties for hits that can cause major injuries.
Hockey mom, Teri Doschadis, says, "It's horrible, my heart dropped."
For Teri Doschadis, watching her son out on the ice hasn't always been the easiest. Now that Jesse's a senior its gotten easier, but the hits have gotten harder.
Teri's son and Moorhead High School Hockey Player, Jesse Doschadis, says, "Without checking, it would kind of not be as fun as it is, but there is some scares that come with it."
Recently, players in Minnesota have gotten serious injuries, and it's raised concern. The Minnesota State High School League announced on Saturday that there will be stiffer penalties for unnecessary hockey hits.

With a cage there is no fear, you throw your face head and steel into the opponents body, and he's finished
Without a cage you are forced more so to hit properly
Of course no cage leads to other issues like puck and stick injuries, but that's another topic

Kids are so well protected that they run all over the ice Willy-Nilly, with their sticks carried high, slamming them into other players face cages.
There is no accountability when you are surrounded by armour. If the odd kid were to lose a few teeth, then voila, everyone would keep their sticks down as they should, and everybody then plays a respectable game with no nonsense on the ice.
The fact that you can ruin a young person's Hockey Career with just one well placed elbow to the head at age 12 sickens me.
The equipment issue needs to be addressed aside from the Wire Cages.
