Scammed?

Hello all,

I picked up a bunch of 1$ packs of 08-09/09-10 UD S1 cards (where they repackage them with other decks, and the first two packs I opened were highly suspicious to me:

First one, I get 8 cards but there's a Victory Rookie as well as the Young Guns checklist. It's a pack of 09-10 S2 if I recall:


Second one, (even more suspicious), I get this Brandon Yip card, which I can't find any copy of on ebay/elsewhere. It seems kind of flimsy (thin cardboard), and from what I can tell - Yip didn't play until the following year, though the description makes reference to 2004. This was pulled from a pack of 09-10 S1.


BTW, the company that packs them up is "MH Holding Company" "www.beckettassociates.com"


The rest of the packs seemed to be fairly normal, got a few YG's but nothing special and your average number of inserts.

Those first two really made me wonder, did I get hosed?

It looks a lot like #46 on that page, a card from the 90's?

It also has a small hologram on the back, it says upper deck but not sure if it's authentic or not.

The Yip card is a 2010-11 UD Young Guns card.... but the retro variation. They're made to look like the 1990-91 set.

Do you have a picture of the pack? There is no way this card should fall in a pack from 09-10. Was this a pack (that you think may be re-sealed) ??

The more I look at it, I believe there was 1 pack of 10-11 in there, it could have been in that one after all. I didn't see any signs of resealing, so perhaps it's just me who messed up the order. Ooops!

On the other note, is it common for a Victory Rookie to be in with a UD S2 pack?

Yes. Very common.

Since 05-06, Upper Deck has been putting 'Victory Update' cards in their Series 2 packs. Normally a mix of Rookie & and Vets that were not part of the main victory release into the Series 2 packs.
