No theatrics from the Gr8 One in the Skills Competition this year.

Saw that this morning, probably slapping back at the NHL for giving him a 3 game suspension over his check in the Penguins game, that check was nowhere near worthy of a 3 game suspension.

I'm not going to say it didn't deserve 3 games, he does have a history after all. But how that can get 3 games and Lucic can't buy a suspension is beyond me. It's like Lucic has pictures of Campbell who has pictures of Shanahan.

I heard about the suspension and my first thought was that he would skip the ASG

With Ovie taking his competitive style out of the game, I'm worried about it just turning into a no-defense, high-scoring, pointless exhibition.

It has nothing to do with any of that, it has everything to do with the fact ovi knows he sucks right now and showing off when you suck is frowned upon
He's likely scared that he won't even be able to score.

Man, no Cros and now no Ovy. How will they ever sell the sport? Every other one of the All-Stars sucks heinously! /sarcasm

I listened to his comment on XM92, he sounded like a 4 year old.

"with the suspension my heart isn't in it"

He announced over 2 weeks ago that he was not participating in "The Skills" anyway.

He would have been in the game, but he had already pulled out of the Skills. Perhaps he is like hundreds of other NHLers, and wants 3-4 days off instead. Lots of players long for this break as it's needed for family time, and overall rest.
