    Question about Replacements - Panini

    Hi all,

So I've busted a LOT of Limited this year, and sold off a fair bit on eBay, more to come still. Now, I put all the cards directly into sleeves / appropriate top loaders as needed, but sometimes errors are made in that I just don't see a knick / gouge etc.

Here's my situation: A buyer contacted me stating that they wanted to return a card to me because it had a chip on the bottom of it. I checked the image in the eBay listing, and it does show a chip on the bottom - I just never realized it as I was uploading a ton of new cards that day. Being a good guy, I told the buyer to send it back to me... now, what should I do when I receive the card?

It definitely was factory damaged, but I no longer have the receipts or the box/wrapper that it was originally packed in.

Should I send it in without the receipt / wrapper? What are the odds it'll be replaced? It's an /25 variation of a prime & auto card. I've never sent a card in to be replaced before.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can share their experiences / thoughts on this matter.

    Regards,

    rydlar99

First off, Panini has the worst customer service I have encountered in a long time. I wont go on that tangent as it will blow up into a whole new argument.

They are going to want the damaged card, receipt from purchase, where it was purchased, and the serial number from the box.

I have never submitted any damaged cards without that information and I imagine they will tell you that it was damaged on your end so they do not need to replace it if you cannot support the card with the proper paperwork.

Argh... thanks for the input. Is it sad that I'm actually considering recording all my breaks (even personal ones) on webcam now? At least then I can send them a video of it being pulled directly out of the pack.

Thinking of doing this anyhow for when I break The Cup this year, so that people can rest-assured that all patches I sell are authentic.

its smart to record a video with the break, but it never hurts to still ask em...i've heard from a lot of people that they are getting better...most complaints i heard were from last year due to the fact that their hockey branch was so new...most people have a much better time with them in the last few months from the posts i've read so its worth a shot
Please check my inventory before my photobucket!!! It's more up to date!!!
