Is Panini Preferred really worth it?? YOUR THOUGHTS

Comes out in a few weeks or so... Its $200 for 4 cards, I know you can get some nice autographs of superstar players like Durant, Kobe, CP3, but then again, you can get autographs of low tier players like Landry Fields and Igalskus, which clearly won't be worth the $50 a card point.

So, are YOU buying a box for $200? Or are you just buying the singles of players you want for $$, like me? I'm hoping Evan Turner has an auto in this set!

    Thanks!

Ill be buying - just because it looks like Panini actually put some effort into making a unique product - the books are nice and featuring a bunch of superstars looks nice.

I'm buying singles because I'm just not into box breaking anymore. To your other point, getting low tier autos is part of the game. Boxes aren't supposed to get your money back. I thought that way too and was not having any fun with it. Part of the experience is seeing what those cards can do now or in the future. For example, pulling Blake autos in his rookie year or Certified greens didn't get an immediate return back on investment but eventually turn around.

I want to see some breaks first, then I'll decide.

Singles all the way. A ton of srub players according to the pre-released autograph checklist so i'll steer clear.

While some of the cards look nice such as the silhouettes, I just can't see this product being worth the price. I mean the choice is paying $50 for a Luke Harangody card or spending that money on some singles for the PC.

The thing of it is there's always going to be the instant hits and the one's you have to hope brings something down the line. I spent good money only to pull Ndudi Ebi, Reece Gaines, Antoine Wright, Luke Jackson, Morris Almond, Romain Sato.....x100 guys. That's just how the hobby goes. Sometimes you hit but most times you have to hope your luck is deferred. Perfect example is Jeremy Lin right now.

The other thing I was thinking about is what if this was 2 hits/$100? Isn't that the normal haul and would that make a difference in how it is received/perceived? Just a thought as I was trying to talk myself into it by saying it's really a 2-box break...lol

Singles for me! Those Crown Royale Jumbo Patch On-Card Auto's look great!! Too bad though that they have pictured CP3 in his Hornets Uni with Hornets patch, would have loved to have some Clippers stuff of him.
Check out the new blog about some of the cards they have live for the product, some really nice stuff:

Looks like its all on-card auto's so that will be huge! Love the Crown Royale but not a fan of those pyramid shaped cards, they look hideous!

Cant wait for this to be released and see what comes out of this stuff. $200 a box is too much risk for me, i will rather buy one superstar single for that cash.
