Recognizing Extreme Generosity
I couldn't find a place to publicly observe the extreme generosity of a few fellow traders so I figured I'd start a thread.
I just received an amazing PC hit from Flyers12 who couldn't find anything on my lists and decided to just send me a 2011-12 Parkhurst Champions Mike Gartner Auto for my HHoF Auto PC.
Every once in a while I'll see a post asking if anybody has base card #301 from this year's UD set or something and I'll drop it in the mail, or even an extra Chris Osgood RC but an auto of a Hall-of-Famer?! Just awesome.
I had another trader a couple years back on SCF send me about 15 1980s RC hits in mint condition out of kindness, including a Ron Francis RC. I should have started this thread back then as well.
I also find it very nice when I might need a small $3.00 RC and a trader finds something that they can use and makes a small trade more for the purpose of getting a card out to me than what I can offer back to them.
The best thing I can do for all these great traders is to 'Pay It Forward' to the next trader-in-need.
There are some very generous traders out there, please feel free to share your stories.Last edited by gfel2795; 02-11-2012 at 12:12 AM.

satellitejack threw in 2 Iginla SP Rookies and a Bondra gold for helping him fill some gaps in his vintage wants.
Unreal....

since then I have tried to give away a lot of base/lower end inserts or other cards that would be lucky to sell for $0.99 on ebay. those guys would get much more enjoyment out of those cards than I would by letting them sit around. I remember I gave a decent patch card to a younger kid that couldnt afford it. Im in my mid 20s and I remember what it was like when I was a teenager and couldnt afford much. I thought buying something for $30 took months to save up for!

I have another great story about a member to tell. Today I received a Kyle Turris lot I purchased from Matt (Clippers00) and was lucky enough to receive 2 extra cards. But these weren't any two cards, they were an UD Black Lettermen Auto RC and a rookie year Ice Signature Swatches! Being a Sens fan this was a very nice and unexpected surprise, and as always I will try to do the same and pay it forward to other collectors.

I got a PM for zPens87z (Zack) a couple of weeks ago asking if I needed the Hossa Black Back from the OPC set this year. I said I did (have never even seen a BB for any of my PC guys)
He said "it is your's"
It arrived today

Thanks very very much Zack

Nice. I've had that happen somewhat. Have a deal right now. Was trading some other items for a Reggie Bush GU card, I'm not into football but maybe I can move it so I made the deal. I'd rather have cards then what I was trading. Also noticed he had a Conklin UD Winter Classic card, I got that one included in the deal. Plus he had a couple of Gretzkys he was gonna put in it. And he mentioned if he found any other hockey he'd throw it in. Can't wait to see if there is anything else included. Kinda cool when it's oh I'll just throw it in if I find anymore. Guy must not collect hockey if he'll do that.

It doesn't matter the value of the card, it's the thought that really counts. There's not a lot better then receiving a card in the mail for free.
hossa18sens (who just posted above) sent me a Claude Giroux Totally Certified parallel card for nothing. It's just awesome. There's a lot of great people in our hobby.

I just had a guy who dealt with me in my favor, just offer me a 00-01 UD Andrew Raycroft, all because he noticed him as my avatar. Nice!

I've had way too many people help me out in trades over the last few years to start naming them..... I could name a few, for sure, but I don't want to forget anyone, so I just won't start the list :)
Anyway - I always enjoy seeing these threads. Sometimes it's a 50 cent card, sometimes it's something much more valuable. Just shows what nice people really do exist in this hobby.

We are incredibly fortunate here at SCF to have some of the hobby's best people around. I myself have received some very generous donations in the mail from people and I am very thankful to you - you know who you are. :)
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...
