Thoughts on the Knicks
ok so the knicks are playing well now that they have a pg, but am I the only one that thinks that Carmelo is going to come back and ruin everything? Carmelo is a great scorer, I'll give him that, but I think he is one of those guys that just won't every amount to being great b/c he doesn't make his team better.

Only the coach can ruin what the Knicks have now. There is chemistry now with the team. It would be the coach's decision to pull out Lin in favor of Carmelo.

That's not what the op meant. He means when Carmelo comes back, even with Lin in the starting line up, Carmelo will ruin the team chemistry and ball movement. Carmelo likes to get the ball and hold it and take stupid shots. If Carmelo can learn to be more of a team player then they will be a force to be reckoned with. Personally I didn't like the trade in the first place for Melo. Its just amusing the Knicks are 4-0 in the last 4 games without the two main players.

Oh. My bad. You mean Carmelo is a shorter version of Patrick Ewing?

I think they would be a great team if Lin can play the way he has and distribute to chandler and amare, but I think Melo riuns it all by trying to be "the guy" and never being a facilitator.

I dont know about that. Watching the knicks right now against T-Wolves, Knicks seriously lack go-to-guy since Lin just cannot do pick and roll every play.
Split up ball distribution between Lin & Melo would make this team whole lot better.

It would be interesting to see. It might take them a while but eventually they are going to figure it out. We have seen it in other teams.

my prediction. Melo comes back and ruins the run for the knicks. If I was the GM, I would move Melo. He has only made the Knicks worse. When your 2 best players are out and you start winning 5 straight to be exact that shows you that something is not right ( Melo) isn't a good fit for the Knicks. He needs the ball to score, he doesn't play a 2 man game well like Amare and Chandler does and Melo is all about Melo. He isn't in NY to win but to boost his popularity. Don't get me wrong Melo is a great scorer but not a all around ball player. He plays no d at all. Did anyone notice like I did when the Melo trade happened the Knicks have a losing record with Melo since the trade and the Nuggets have a winning record? Knicks has no bench now but it may change when Davis is healthy and Shumpert plays a role of a 6th man. The lack depth at the front court position where they had it before the trade last year for melo. I just don't think Melo is the savior for Knicks fans and he has hurt that team more than anything. That's just my 2 cents. I just feel like the Knicks are a better team without Melo. Trade him for a star sf and role players and the knicks can make a deep playoff run. They already have a go to scorer in Amare. With Lin playing like he is and he keeps it up, they could make a deep playoff push or not make it at all. Depends on how well Melo is going to work back in the offense with Lin and Amare.

I also thought that the knicks gave up too much to get melo when he pretty much all but guaranteed that he will sign with them this past summer. NY has some good solid pieces around him so it is no put up or shut up time.Drug and smoke free trading.
