3 JAGS
Three jaguar players have been down and to the hospital in just 11 days.... what do you think about this? is this the happening with alot of teams? are football players being worked too hard these days? and will the jags be any good this year?
jaguar center says that it hasnt been any hotter than other years... do you think that this is only being as recconized because of corey stringer's death two years ago .... does anyone know why the jaguars team has 3 guys out in 11 days?
(only 5 questions)

I don't think so. Remember these guys are usually working a lot hard than they have in the past few months... even those with off season workout regimes aren't working as hard as they do in the 2-a-days. Some of injuries are just a natural part of players trying to get up to game speed.
Additionally, injuries are treated FAR differently in the pre-season than they are in the regular season. Then the most minor handnail is treated with the utmost caution. Fair better to play it safe when it doesn't matter than risk a bigger problem when it does.
Charles Rogers of the Detroit Lions is a perfect example of this. He dislocated his finger last week. It was semi-serious in that the movement also opened a small wound on his hand and he got two stitches, but over all it's a fairly minor item. If the game this Saturday was a regular season game there would be no question that Rogers would be playing. But when you combine the fact that it's not only preseason, but early preseason and the fact that Rogers is going to make the team (Cut the second over all pick in the draft before the season starts?? Yeah, right!) and the Lions are playing this very cautiously. They just want to be sure that Rogers is 100% before he plays in a game because the games don't mean squat.
and will the jags be any good this year?
Not really sure...

what surprises me is the silly lawsuits by the family.
Like Kelli Stringer suing everyone and everything b/c he husband Korey died while practicing in the August heat 1-2 years ago.
Gimme a break. There was no intention to commit murder. You practice in the heat, and you're gonna get some unfortunate souls who succumb to it.

i think it has to do with the fact that players are forced to make weight. i am a big person and play sports so i know what it is like in the summer heat. i wasnt all that surprised even when the second lineman went down from heat. it has happened to me several times in the past. when a wide reciever goes down from heat there is a definite problem. players are fined if they arent at a certain weight that the team wants them to be at and of course the easiest way to keep weight off is to not drink water.
i think the jaguars will be decent this year. they added a great bit to their defense with hugh douglas and a good defensive coach. if fred taylor is able to stay healthy i think they can contend with tennessee and indy.
