    Getting chromes signed

Is there any way to get Chromes signed without the ink clotting together, so that it is a nice scribble (my new word for autograph)?

    Any specific pens or techniques?

paint? might look good depending on the card.
the auto'd scribbled chromes that come out of packs just seem to be blue marker. sharpie dosen't really seem to bead up, even on glossy surfaces.

Most times I just like to use a silver or blue sharpie, with the cards prepped right they turn out pretty good

You have to prep chrome cards like there's no tomorrow. I avoid them at all cost but I have sent 2 TTM. One came back nice, other came back signed like crap. But I spent a solid 4-5 minutes on it preping to get some of the gloss off.

another thing i just thought of, some chrome cards tend to curl after a while, this might cause paint/silver to flake off. i'd suggest playing with a few test cards and marker options before sending anything.

I always prep the chrome cards with baby powder, before getting them signed. I get them signed in blue or black sharpie. The ink holds perfectly without any smudges or bubbling.

Chromes sign better in the heat of summer as well. I know that sounds odd, but getting them IP at baseball games mid to late summer is so much better than in spring. Yes, prep the cards with baby powder and erasers.

Anyone ever tried a Staedtler pen? I've used them on other tough surfaces like UD Ice cards. Comes out nice. I think thats what some companies have guys use to sign pack pulled autos. Nice fine tip.

It is near the bottom of the page.

Another note, the UD ice are almost like plastic so using sharpie never dried enough quick enough. I tested some cards because I had extras. You'd be standing around waiting for it to dry if it ever did and miss guys if your going IP. Staedtler dries real quick.

I'll second-- err, third-- the comments on baby powder. Works like a charm,
